Presenter Information

Each accepted paper will also be allocated an oral plenary and poster presentation. See below for instructions.

Plenary presentation

All papers will be assigned a four-minute plenary oral presentation. To ensure that the presentations go smoothly, and following the RSS tradition, we ask all presenters to submit a video of their presentation in advance. The presenters will be speaking live while the presentation recording will be playing in the background as a video. Presenters are asked not to record sound as part of the presentations, except possibly for videos where the sound is useful to understand an experiment being shown.

Please rehearse your talk before setting up the slideshow timing, as you will not be able to change the timing once your presentation is submitted. You can record a movie from a self-advancing slideshow in PowerPoint and Keynote, and then export as QuickTime and convert to MPEG-4.

(In very rare cases, and only with explicit email permission from the Program Chair, if all authors are unable to make the trip to Sydney, we will accept a video with narration, and will play the video with sound during the technical session. Such cases are exempt from the requirement above to not include sound.)

Please note that each technical session will end with a Q&A session for all papers presented in that session. All presenters will be asked to return to the stage, and audience members will be able to direct their questions at any of the presenters.

Instructions for video preparation and submission:

  • Duration: No longer than 4 minutes (240 seconds)
  • Resolution: 1920x1080 pixels (1080p)
  • Format: MPEG-4. Please consider encoding in Handbrake with Universal encoding
  • Naming: Paper_X.m4v where X is the number of your paper in OpenReview
  • Due Date: All videos must be received by Fri June 26 AoE.
  • Upload: Submit the video through this google form

Poster presentation

In addition, all papers will also be presented in one of the poster sessions.

We are working hard to ensure that poster sessions will be first-class events for discussion and exchange of ideas. We expect excellent attendance for the posters, so please put as much work into your poster presentation as you would into an oral presentation.

Poster preparation and printing

Poster should be printed according to the following format:

  • A0 (841 wide x 1189mm high) and portrait orientation.

Addiionally, posters must be printed by presenters prior to arrival at the conference. If you are not able to print your poster before arrival, please refer to these local poster printing options.

Day-of-presentation instruction

Please review the following instructions for the poster presentations:

  • Posters must be installed in The Gallery at least 10 minutes prior to the start of your session.
  • Authors are not allocated to a specific poster board. You are welcome to choose an available board at your assigned time.
  • Posters should be removed immediately after your assigned poster session. Posters left on boards may be disposed of.

Installation and materials: Poster boards and adhesives will be provided and available at registration desk.
